Time certainly seems to be flying by and before we all know it, storytime will be resuming again at all three Santa Clarita Public Library branches. We will be offering a variety of storytimes for all age groups of children, ranging from babies through elementary school students as well as offering multiple bilingual storytimes. We hope that you will be able to make it to one of our many offerings we are providing this season. Please click here to be taken to our online calendar with the schedule of times for these events.
Since we are discussing storytime I would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone of a few simple ground rules we can all follow while we are in attendance to make storytime more enjoyable for everyone.
- Please put all cell phones and electronic devices away and on silent. Not only do the storytime presenters appreciate this, but the children you are with as well as the others in attendance will appreciate this.
- Use this opportunity to spend time with your child. When you sit next to them or have them in your lap, you are showing them that you are involved with the storytime too. This is a great way to model behavior for your children.
- Not only is this a great opportunity for you children to listen to stories, sing songs and interact with other children it is also an opportunity for you as a parent to learn new songs, rhymes, fingerplays and books to carry home with you.
- Additionally, we would like you to take this opportunity to meet other parents with children and grow friendships; however we ask that you please hold all conversations until after storytime. There is plenty of time to converse and discuss while the children are interacting and playing at the end.
