How to Build a Better Summer

This year the theme for our Summer Reading Program is Build a Better World.  There are so many ways to make the world a better place.  Caring for the earth, caring for animals and doing kind things all help make our world brighter and happier.  Our library staff strives to be kind and helpful to our customers every day.   The summer reading program is a time when we pull out all the stops to help make your family’s library experience fantastic.  This summer is going to be especially fun.  The library will be offering engaging programs, like: Build a House with the Three Little Pigs.  Check our calendar and  bring your children to one of our many programs where they might learn how to create a game, build a car or plant a CD garden.

Reading over the summer will help keep your child’s reading skills strong.  If you are looking for new titles check out the book lists on our summer reading website.  The library makes reading fun by offering reading prizes for the children who participate in the Read 5 Challenge including a FREE book for those who complete the challenge.  Children who complete the challenge will also be recognized by having their first name displayed in the library.

If you are looking for fun and special things to do this summer plan to attend one of the library sponsored special performances.  The Wacko Show, Buster Balloon and Twinkle Time will all be joining in our summer fun.  Musician, Craig Newton will perform at the the library’s summer reading finale on July 29th.   The library is here to help you and your children have a great summer so stop by and join the fun.
