Winter Break is Coming

Winter break is fast approaching and it is actually COLD outside!

What to do when you do not want your little ones watching t.v. all day and don’t want them out too long in the cold?

Here at the library we could read books all day, everyday! But we know that isn’t for everyone. While it is important to read each day, here are some suggestions for the rest of your time.

  1. Play Board Games
  2. Invite friends over
  3. Build a couch cushion fort
  4. Teach your child one of your skills (knitting, music, recipe)
  5. Learn a new skill together
  6. Visit a local museum
  7. Write letters to family members
  8. Have a living room dance party
  9. Teach your child a new card game
  10. Bake or cook together
  11. Make a craft with your recyclables
  12. Fix something around the house together
  13. Look at old family photos, maybe make a scrap book
  14. Go for a walk and talk about what you see
  15. Create your own picture book

And if you need more ideas, the library is full of them!
