Winter break is fast approaching and it is actually COLD outside!
What to do when you do not want your little ones watching t.v. all day and don’t want them out too long in the cold?
Here at the library we could read books all day, everyday! But we know that isn’t for everyone. While it is important to read each day, here are some suggestions for the rest of your time.
- Play Board Games
- Invite friends over
- Build a couch cushion fort
- Teach your child one of your skills (knitting, music, recipe)
- Learn a new skill together
- Visit a local museum
- Write letters to family members
- Have a living room dance party
- Teach your child a new card game
- Bake or cook together
- Make a craft with your recyclables
- Fix something around the house together
- Look at old family photos, maybe make a scrap book
- Go for a walk and talk about what you see
- Create your own picture book
And if you need more ideas, the library is full of them!
