“Firecracker Dragon” with Storyteller Barbara Wong on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Valencia Library
Multi-cultural storyteller Barbara Wong will perform interactive stories about dragons, magic pots, and more. Children will be a part of the show by creating sounds such as rain and trying to guess riddles. Barbara’s humor and experience will delight people of all ages.
Barbara began her storytelling career visiting schools all over Hawaii as an employee for the State Department of Education. She moved to Los Angeles, CA and has entertained crowds at the Getty Museum, the Long Beach Aquarium, the China Moon Festival, various libraries, and so many other places!
She has been a guest on the Emmy winning PBS show Jakers! The Adventures of Piggley Winks. We look forward to seeing you at the Valencia Public Library.
Bilingual Children’s Concert with Nathalia on Monday, May 9, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Old Town Newhall Library
Columbian born Nathalia creates educational and memorable children’s bilingual music. Nathalia not only sings, but she is also a songwriter. She moved to this country where she enrolled in the Berklee College of Music where she earned her degree in music therapy.
Her English/Spanish music has something to offer everyone with influences in Rock, Cumbia, Jazz and Reggaeton. Nathalia reaches adults and kids of all ages. Her second CD Dream a Little (Sueña un Poquito) was co-produced/engineered by Grammy Award Winner Shafik Palis. Famous professional musicians from the United States and Columbia are part of this musical CD.
Nathalia has performed at many museums and libraries. Her songs have played at several radio stations and she has been a guest on shows such as The Talk and Despierta America.

Rebecca will tell familiar and unique princess stories that are interactive and may help to give children self-confidence. Travel with Rebecca as she takes you on a journey inside castles and kingdoms!
This animated storyteller has been performing for over 10 years. Rebecca graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara with a degree in acting as well as literature. She took up acting in London. At one time she was a drama teacher.
She has performed at a variety of venues not only in California but also in Scotland! You can watch this talented artist on Pigglys Storyteller Playhouse.
