Astronomy Day

1

My very eager mother just served us nine pizzas” used to assist students everywhere who had to memorize all the names of the planets.  Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, but now Pluto is no longer a planet.  Why is Pluto no longer a planet? If you want to find out you should join us at the Valencia Library for the annual Astronomy Day event on October 8th! The event starts at 10:00 am with programs giving the whole family the opportunity to learn about our wonderful Universe.  You can then go home and plan on making your way back at 7:00 pm and experience the stars and planets first hand looking through telescopes at the Santa Clarita night sky.  Check out this link to find out about more about astronomy right in your own backyard! If you are unable to come to this program you should still come by the library and take home some of our brilliantly written and wonderfully illustrated astronomy books to read at home. You might even find out why Pluto is no longer a planet.
