Family Literacy Festival

Lit Fest ImageOn Saturday, December 1 from 10am – 2pm, the 12th Annual Family Literacy Festival will be held at the Old Town Newhall Library. Explore, Play, Create is the theme in which hands-on activities, stories, performers and so much more will be featured at the festival.

One of the featured guests will be our very own Mayor Laurene Weste who will read a story. In addition, there will be booths, food trucks, experiments, face painting, and even a baby shark in the library parking lot! Inside activities include an escape room, free art lessons, and virtual reality games – just to name a few!

One of the giveaways is a free book for every child and teenager. There also will be a prize wheel. However, you are welcome to just come and relax by listening to some of the outstanding entertainment. There is quite a variety of performers this year which include: Native American Dancing, an American Idol band member and professional guitar player, a magician, a Salsa Demonstration, Saugus high school choirs, and Ballet Folklorico.

We hope to see you Saturday for this very fun event!
