Did you know that if your child aged 4 – 12 reads five books before November 16th, 2019 that they can get a certificate for a free hamburger or cheeseburger from In-n-Out?
All three branches of the Santa Clarita Public Library (Old Town Newhall Library, Canyon Country Jo Anne Darcy Library, and Valencia Library) are participating in the In-n-Out Cover to Cover Club! The program encourages literacy and reading through a great incentive, an In-n-Out burger!
Using incentives to motivate increased reading has several great benefits in addition to working on literacy skills. Kids can feel a sense of joy at completing the program, and the success of reading five books can boost self-esteem. Working in a team or a group to help get to the finish line, such as reading with a sibling or parent, can also promote collaboration and teamwork. It can also encourage reluctant readers to associate the library and reading with fun and excitement!
Each child can receive up to three award certificates (which means three burgers) while supplies last, so come in and sign up today! The program will run until November 16th, 2019.
