The temperatures outside are rising, which means soon, we will start to see our slithering friends on trails, at local parks, and even in our own backyards. As the parent of a young child, now is a great time to start talking snakes and snake safety with your kids. What better way to start that discussion than with a fun craft.

This paper snake craft can easily be adapted to many age groups, from scribblers to budding artists.

What you need:

Step 1: Draw your snake pieces. Ideally you want two different colored papers, one for the top and bottom of the snake body and one for the sides, but you can always achieve this with the design or if you have very young children, mixing and matching is just fine

Step 2: Decorate, no pinterest fails here, encourage your child to draw or color patterns, shapes, scribbles, or even real life snake patterns based on their own abilities, keep it fun

Step 3: Cut the strips

Step 4: Glue the strips together in alternating order, little hands can easily apply glue and piece the papers together.If they are losing steam midway through construction, offer a special detail for later (try glitter, google eyes, or stickers to put on when it is all done.

Step 5: Draw, color and cut a head with a very long neck and a long tail (neck and tail should be about as long as the loops without the head and tip of the tail.)

Step 6: Attach the head and tail to your snake body and enjoy

Serpientes de Papel

¡La temperatura afuera está aumentando, lo que significa que, pronto estaremos viendo a nuestras amigas, las serpientes, arrastrándose por los senderos en los parques, y tal vez también hasta en nuestros propios patios! Como padre de un pequeño, ahora es momento de empezar a hablarle a nuestros hijos a cerca de las serpientes y hablar sobre la seguridad. Y que mejor manera de empezar hablar sobre el tema que con una divertida actividad.

Esta serpiente de papel puede ser fácilmente adaptada a cualquier nivel o edad, desde los que apenas empiezan a dibujar hasta los artistas.

Que necesitas:

Paso 1: Dibuja las piezas de la serpiente. Paso 2: Decora, y anima a tu niño a dibujar o a colorear los patrones, formas, y rayas, o tal vez patrones reales de serpientes basados en su propia habilidad. ¡Hazlo divertido!

Paso 3: Corta las tiras

Paso 4: Pega las tiras juntas alternándolas, las manos pequeñitas pueden aplicar el pegamento para pegar las piezas. Si los pequeños pierden el interés pronto, ofrézcales algún detalle que agregar para el final como calcomanías, ojitos, o brillantina

Paso 5: Dibuja, colorea y corta la cabeza con un cuello muy largo y una cola larga (el cuello y la cola deben ser del tamaño de los aros)

Paso 6: Pega la cabeza y la cola al cuerpo de la serpiente y a disfrutar!
